Online Documentation

Online Documentation

Good online documentation is not simply a printed manual that has been put online.

It makes sense to take full advantage of linking and searching capabilities. For example, it’s nice to include definitions as hypertext. Or you may want to set up links to graphics. There are many possible applications for links, and we can advise you what is appropriate. In this way your documentation will be most helpful to your users especially using searchable, indexed keywords or other criteria.

We create and rigorously test each component, including media elements, topics and topic clusters. One of the advantages of documents that are online is that they become ‘living’ documents. They're easy to update and therefore can always present current information.

We can develop online help systems, either in Windows Help, which although an older technology is still a robust and oft-used solution. Alternatively we can develop in Oracle or Java Help or in HTML (or other mark-up languages) for browser applications.
